The “Untold Stories” is a joint initiative between Artcore, Sahara and The Derby Bosnia Herzegovina Community Association. The aim of this project, which is funded by the Barring Foundation, is to provide therapeutic art activities to Refugees, Asylum Seekers, and members from the Bosnian and South Asian Community. We found a high rate of stigma attached to mental health issues and how often it is kept hidden by family members and community members. This has massively impacted individuals in expressing their feelings which then leads to further health concerns such as depression. We aim to create a relaxing environment by offering a range of art activities which have a clear therapeutic benefit.
